Cherry. Nice. Cream.

Want a healthy "anytime" treat? So low in calorie, it's one of my favorite go tos!

Here's how I do it.

1 very ripe frozen banana, cut in chunks

1/2 cup frozen sweet cherries or any other fruit of choice (blueberries, strawberries, mango...)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

unsweetened plant milk

Place fruit and vanilla into high powered blender. I love using my Vitamix! (Now on sale!) Slowly drizzle in unsweetened plant milk to keep things moving. Blend on low until combined. You might have to use a spatula once or twice to move the fruit closer to the blades. Do not overdo it or it will melt. Absolutely YUM! Best served fresh.

If serving this or any frozen dessert later, let it freeze for 3 hours and then cut into chunks, reblend and refreeze.

Homemade ice cream stays softer when you store it in a shallow container, rather than a deep tub. Cover the surface of the ice cream with parchment paper and plastic wrap to keep ice crystals from forming. For easier serving, you can cut this into cubes rather than scooping it out or freeze in individual cups. Let soften before serving. Enjoy l’chvod Shabbos or anytime you're in the mood for a sweet treat!
