What's up with Nutritional Yeast?

Updated: Jun 13, 2023

I know that nutritional yeast is a new ingredient for some of you.

A lot of us have chosen to go dairy free for various reasons. Some for allergies, some for weight loss, and some for their general health and well-being. Whatever your reason is, nutritional yeast is used to replace the cheesy, savory flavor in many non-dairy dishes.

Nutritional yeast is deactivated, so it doesn't have the downsides of regular yeast, and is often fortified with vitamins like B, potassium, calcium, and iron. It can be used to increase protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants intake, amongst other various potential health benefits. Studies show that nutritional yeast may help protect against oxidative damage, lower cholesterol, and boost immunity.

Use it in dairy free lasagna, faux parmesan, soups, salad dressings, etc to UP the delicious in dairy free dishes. PM to let me know how you plan on using it!

Find it in most stores carrying natural products including Shoprite, Walmart, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and many local health food and kosher groceries
