Brown. Rice. Buddies.

Perfect for the busy mom! Love these ready to go whole grain rice options. Found in the freezer section at Trader Joe’s or look for other varieties in your local grocery. I even found them in Walmart. The rice is really good.


Use them in grain bowls, burritos, for homemade black bean burgers, or under a bed of kidney beans and sautéed vegetables. The list goes on.


I love taking these with me when I travel. To turn them into a complete protein packed meal whether at home or when you don't have access to a kitchen, let a bag of frozen broccoli defrost (it's parboiled and ready to eat as is), open up a container of chickpeas or a pouch of iron and protein rich lentils or beans, add your favorites spices, warm up (if you can), and walla, dinner is done.

This is just one example of the many shortcuts to healthy living I use and encourage my clients to take advantage of when they're tight for time or on the go.
