Guilt. Free. Garlic.

Updated: Oct 8, 2022

This is one of those yummy basics that will become a staple in your cooking and at your Shabbos and Yom Tov tables. I love the fact that it is oil free which means I can use it anywhere without adding unnecessary calories.

Garlic is so flavorful on its own, and once roasted, is perfect smeared and seasoned on whole grain sour dough challah or matza, added to soups, salad dressings, and many other dishes.

It's almost too simple to call a recipe, but here are step by step directions to follow:

Take 1 head of garlic. Cut off the tips with a sharp knife. Wrap the whole head in parchment paper and then wrap the parchment paper in aluminum foil. Bake in preheated oven on 400 degrees F for about 45 minutes to an hour until fragrant. Squeeze out cloves and enjoy. (When using on Shabbos or Yom Tov, be sure to do it in a permissible manner.)

Do you wish you had some more easy low calorie ideas that keep you healthy and satisfied, while sitting for hours at long meals? Do you find yourself having a hard time navigating all the food over the Yom Tov season and beyond? Do you fear what the scale will say when you're on the other side?
