Here is another one of my favorite meal choices for any time of day. For those of you who have tried Ezekiel bread, here it is in circle form. This version contains no yeast and with ingredients like organic sprouted spelt, barley, millet, lentils, soybeans, and sesame seeds, (legumes, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats), they're a meal all rolled in one! (Pun intended).
These tortillas are high in plant protein and really pack a nutritional punch. They are considered 'whole plants' because the grains are kept intact and not ground into flour. And by sprouting the ingredients, the enzymes get activated and the nutrients are more easily absorbed in the body.
One simple meal idea is to smear the defrosted or slightly toasted wrap with hummus and roasted vegetables, roll it up and done.
Another is to smear on avocado or guacamole, with sliced tomato, and sprouts or some greens.
Ezekiel tortillas are sold locally in Passaic in the freezer section of Aisle One and A1 Nutrition. if you live elsewhere, ask your local grocer to get them for you or shop for them online.
Let me know what you make with yours. Can't wait to share what you come up with!
