We all know that staying on track over Shabbos can be challenging when we are surrounded by food... and our routine is different than other days of the week... and our schedule revolves around our meals. I find it especially challenging sitting at the table during long drawn out meals. It can be really hard!
Here’s one tip that helps me get through Shabbos without overindulging.
I make myself a cup of tea.
I know it sounds simple, but it really does the trick. Not just on Shabbos, but anytime I feel like I want to eat, and I know I'm not really hungry.
Now, instead of grazing and taking more even when I'm full, I treat myself to a warm delicious cup of tea and enjoy the company and the conversation.
The tea pictured below is my absolute favorite. The flavor balance between the sweet and spicy takes the edge of my craving and sipping it slowly while it’s hot helps me get through the urge to overeat. Make sure to get the 'caffeine free and all natural flavors' variety.
